It’s true that just about everyone will experience anxiety in one form or another during the course of their life. Different measures of anxiety can be brought on by being notified of an impending snowstorm or from the phone ringing in the middle of the night.
But when people discuss about anxiety, they usually mean something much more severe than just a bit of nervous reaction to some unexpected event. The severity some people experience these indicators can make them literally unable to do things such as meet new people, keep a job or even function outside their home. The National Institute of Health states that - approximately 40 million American adults ages 18 and older, or about 18.1 percent of people in this age group in a given year, have an anxiety disorder
People may also suffer from more than one type of anxiety disorder, e.g. a person who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder may also have post traumatic stress disorder as well.
Depression may also be characterised through obsessive compulsive disorder.
