Some people may ask themselves or others what is ptsd? PTSD is defined as an anxiety disorder that can happen after you have suffered a traumatic event, like an attack, wartime, abused of any nature such as physical, mental, or emotional. Being involved in a horrible car accident, a fire, a natural disaster, etc. Any of all of these events and even some not described can often trigger emotional, physical, and bodily reactions in the person, or persons involved that make you feel that you are out of control, or losing control.
Overcoming PTSD is the only the first step to creating a better life. Now it’s easier than ever to get relief from the disorder while in the privacy of your own home and without the costly therapy sessions. New techniques have emerged from research of the functions of the brain and how those functions can now be manipulated in a very short time frame as compared to traditional therapy but still having the same result. It is much easier than people would have you believe.If you want a better life for yourself and your family, you start with beating the syndrome and then tackle the mountain of personal development and pull yourself away from the gutter of life. Some people pride themselves upon always being in control of themselves and their bodies to a point of total control over their surroundings. Often, when people feel out of control, or like they have no control where they used to have control of their body’s, and the situation the loss of this control can trigger reactions in the body that flood it with adrenaline and hormones that cause the body to feel even more out of control than before. When the body reacts in a scary situation like a natural disaster, you get the “flight or fight” response. This response is your body’s way of helping you get out of danger. After the danger has passed, the body usually fades with the flight or fight response, the hormones take over, and your body returns to normal, like before the disaster. If this does not happen, than you may be suffering from PTSD.
When doctors asked themselves what is ptsd they began to analyze what they knew of the disorder, and the body’s reaction to it. From there they have developed new therapy, treatments, and the pharmaceutical companies developed new drugs and therapies for treatment. With these new treatments, and therapies people can rejoin the ones who do have control over their bodies and their body’s reactions to events and situations. Some people that end up developing PTSD do not do so for months, or even years after until one day an event triggers the memory of the first event, then, they have those feelings over and over again. One key thing is that PTSD suffers are not alone in their struggle, or their fight to regain control and a sense of self and normalcy.
